• What is Issuer and Acquirer Certification?

  The bank that is going to issue their cards they need to go for Issuer Certification and if bank needs to accept cards, they need to go for Acquirer Certification.

• Whether bank can use same switch keys for switch migration request?

  No switch keys need to be re-initiated.

• When can bank use existing production keys?

  If the bank is already live on EMV and coming for RuPay Contactless with same switch, then they can use the existing Production keys.

• Do the Keys expire?

  Keys, once used in the production movement, will never expire. However once the keys are issued, bank should go live in production within the prescribed TAT of 90 days; if not done, the bank needs to procure new set of keys from NPCI.

• How many requests need to be raised for Sponsor Bank change/ Sub-member to Direct-member/ Switch Migration?

  The bank needs to raise all the requests again for the respective product and sub-product combinations in which they were already live - as this is a major change in systems.
